Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi of Israel David Lau spoke to students Sunday afternoon at Maryland Hillel. The event was hosted by UMD Kedma, the Orthodox Jewish group on campus, and was moderated by Sam Koralnik and Yael Magid. Lau spoke about pertinent issues in Israeli society, including Haredim and women in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), women of the wall, and media coverage about Israel.
